Ouma began with a compliment we heard again and again at Polly's Cafe(our sister cafe’s):

"This feels like my grandma's living room."

We realized people weren't just coming for coffee. They were coming for the feeling of being welcomed, cared for, and at home. So when it came time to open our bakery, we leaned all the way into that idea.

"Ouma," another name for grandmother, became the perfect expression of what we wanted to build. A place where everything is made with care, from wholesome pastries to thoughtful cakes and everyday treats, all served alongside exceptional coffee in a space that feels warm, humble, and inviting. At the bakery, we return to the classics, executing them with quiet confidence and care, grounded in strong technique, seasonal inspiration, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Baked fresh daily by our incredible team, led by our accomplished Head of Pastry.

To us, Ouma represents something we all share: the love, comfort, and generosity of the matriarch who always made everyone feel like family. That's the feeling we hope you find every time you visit.
